Schweizerhof Lucerne

The Schweizerhof was built in 1844 and, in terms of art and architectural history, is of national significance. Its original architecture has been preserved, and the interior design of the rooms is incomparable. The grand hall is famous. Lovely relicts of a bygone age still grace the lobby (such as a historic writing desk). The staff is proud to hand out a booklet with the building history of the hotel.

As a result of the renovation in 1999, the Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern once again reflects all the splendour of the 19th century, while also providing an infrastructure which accommodates everything needed for today’s modern hotel operations. Emperors and empresses, queens and kings, writers and musicians have all been guests at the Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern. Tolstoy wrote one of his works here; Wagner completed “Tristan and Isolde” and also met Ludwig II here.
