La Russie

The origins are unknown and we are still working on this "dark spot" in the hotels history. We position the opening of the hotel around 1900. It is, however, certain, that the La Russie enjoys one of the best locations in the Eternal City, being between Piazza del Popolo and Piazza di Spagna. We do enjoy its garden in the inner courtyard, and in days and times of air-condition the hotel does not suffer from its location which is so much lower than the Hassler, the Grand Hotel or the Excelsior, which were built - with the "cooler climate" in mind - in the newer parts of the city next to the top of the Spanish Steps, Via Veneto or the new train station.
