This is what we know so far (attention: unverified history!):
When it opened, The Great Southern Fireproof Building and Opera House was hailed as an "elegant sall city". There were over 200 guest rooms, great parlors for entertaining, a ballroom, a 1200 seat theater, restaurants, residential space, a barber shop, a sauna,( sad to have been Tedy Roosevelts favorite), and a rooftop garden. An inhouse power plant made the Great Southern one of the first electrified buildings in Columbus. Today in the National Register of Historic Places.
