Carlton
Welcome to Slovakia's only Select Member Hotel of THE MOST FAMOUS HOTELS IN THE WORLD. Thomas Alva Edison, Albert Einstein, Theodore Roosevelt, David Beckham, Madeleine Albright, George Bush - they all enjoyed the hospitality of this hotel, right in the heart of the charming old city of Bratislava, opposite the Opera House.
The hotel provides the public with little information about its history. Our team researches the hotel's past, from the very beginning, verifying its exact opening date and providing an overview of its history up to the present day. If you have any useful information and would like to share it, please send it to archives@famoushotels.org. Thank you This is what we know (attention: unverified history!): Dating back to 1837, this hotel used to be an inn called 'The Three Green Trees'. In 1912, after a major reconstruction, it opened as Hotel Carlton-Savoy. Situated in a prime location on a square opposite the Opera House, it always was one of the most prestigious buildings in the Slovak capital. Today, with the main business area and embassies a short walk away and city sights close by, our hotel invites business and leisure travellers to indulge in the elegance of former centuries. Thomas Alva Edison, Alfred Nobel, Albert Einstein, Theodore Roosevelt and many others enjoyed the hospitality, a stone's throw away from the River Danube.
