The Adolphus was built in 1912 on the former site of Dallas' City Hall at an original cost of nearly two million dollars. It was said that Adolphus Busch didn't fight city hall, he bought it. Always innovative, The Adolphus was the tallest building in Texas at the time and was the first hotel in the world to offer central air conditioning. The Adolphus has always hosted the rich and famous, from presidents to royalty, and from entertainers to sports legends. 1980: The Adolphus became the flagship hotel in the Noble House Collection. It was completely restored in 1981 at a cost of some $80 million.

What a pleasant surprise it was for guests to find in their room a tap from which ice-chilled Budweiser flowed in an endless stream. It was supplied by the Budweiser family.
