Schloss Fuschl

The Hotel Schloss fuschl was converted into a hotel and restaurant in 1958. It was subsequently acquired by the Grundig foundation who, in 1977, transformed the property into a luxury hotel with modern amenities. In April 1998, Rafael Hotels assumed the management of Hotel Schloss Fuschl. Rafael Hotels is ideally placed both from a management and marketing perspective to assist Hotel Schloss Fuschl, already a member of Leading Hotels of the World, to reach even higher levels of excellence and fulfil its potential. In May 2000, Mandarin Oriental International has aquired the Rafael Group. With January 1st 2001 the Max Grundig Stiftung sold it’s property to the Hotel Schloss Fuschl Inc. The ArabellaSheraton Hotelmanagement Inc. manages Hotel Schloss Fuschl as a hotel of the “Luxury Collection”, one of the brands of it’s Joint Venture Partner “Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc.”.

The Hotel Schloss Fuschl is especially proud of the unique Schloss Fuschl Art Collection, which is currently put together in co-operation with the renowned Munich-based art-dealing company "Bernheimer Fine Old Masters". This collection is unequalled in the international hotel industry. "The wonderful works of old masters stemming from the 16th and 19th centuries have the quality of museum collections and will embellish the suites and public areas of our hotel, giving pleasure and delight not only to art lovers." 3. The Hotel Schloss Fuschl became famous above all as a backdrop for Schloss Possenhofen in the legendary “Sisi” movies starring Romy Schneider (Sssi - Mädchenjahre eine Kaiserin).
