Sporting an idyllic setting on the Ligurian coastline, this hotel is a child of the early twentieth century. Situated next to the Kursaal Rapallo and to Villa Elisabetta, it quickly became a
favoured destination for the beau monde, who flocked to the Riviera
from all over Europe, drawn by the legendary climate and the
attractions of the casino tables.
The New Casino Hotel, soon renamed Excelsior Palace, was designed by the Swiss architect Verrey and built close by, with a direct link to the games room.
