What has changed in hotel business

( words)

How has our industry changed? ____________ Do you know / do you remember? ____________ Reservation: once made in a reservation book, later on boards and finally electronically in a computer, now over the Internet.
Lift boys: were replaced by fully automated lifts.
Concierge: used to run a separate bill for guests, was confidant in every respect, arranged all and everything, from tickets to transport, mail, etc and handed out the room keys. Today key-cards, concierge sometimes outsourced, maybe even sits in a call centre.
Telephone operator: the connecting link to the outer world. 'Please connect me to...' or 'Can you please try for me ...' is history. Today mobile phones.
Name tags: in old days (tells us a hotelier) guests remembered the names of the staff without them.
