Andy Williamson
Andy Williamson has contributed to a wide range of newspapers, magazines and books about everything from gentlemen’s clubs and the crown jeweller to the Titanic and Newgate Prison.
His particular passions are grand hotels and travel. He has brought these to his work as co-author and editor of various titles in our library, including The Oriental Bangkok, The Peninsula Hong Kong, The Strand Yangon, Grand Hotel Europe St. Petersburg and The Savoy London.
His book The Golden Age of Travel examines the evolution of modern tourism through the life of travel agent Thomas Cook. He has also appeared on Channel 5 in the UK as a historical expert for a series of programmes about the world’s greatest hotels.
