Shelbourne

Welcome to the icon of Dublin's hospitality history. This famous hotels first opened in 1824. It is called after a distinguished Irish Man called William Petty (Earl of Shelburne) who was, amongst other things, a Kerryman and Prime Minster of Great Britian.
The first constitution for the new Irish State was drafted here - it was the births registry office for an independent Ireland.
Michael Collins, one of the founders of modern Ireland was based here. Princess Grace of Monaco who has a suite in the hotel named after her loved it.
It recently underwent extensive refurbishments and reopend in February 2007.
