Excelsior Florence

Founded by hotelier Gerardo Kraft in 1925-1927 (opening year), the Excelsior in Florence is one of the great hotels of Italy. Neighboring the famous Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi Gallery and Pitti Palace, todays Westin Excelsior, Florence combines contemporary accommodations with seven centuries of Florentine history.

Dating back as a palace to the 15the century, the building was purchased by Caroline Bonaparte in 1833.

1927: Gerardo Kraft purchased the house.

1927: Kraft opens the Exclsior Italie hotel.

1997: Westin takes over (Luxury Collection) and fully restores the hotel.
