Paramount

The Paramount, centrally located in Times Square close to theatres, shopping and fine dining is completely renovated with latest comfort and style inside the historic building. Bygone days, when jazz from the 1930s was performed;today still the place to celebrate.

Thomas W Lamb designed the hotel, the construction was finally completed in 1928.

1986: Ian Schrager purchased the hotel. He doubled the occupancy rate up to 82%.

In 1988, the hotel was closed for renovations.

In 1990, Philip starck was redesigning the hotel. It reopened as the Paramount Hotel.

1998: The hotel underwent a seven-month long renovation at a cost of $7 million.

2004: Schrager sold the hotel in 2004 for $126 million to Sol Malia Hotels and Resorts / and Hard Rock Cafe joint venture.

2009: completely renovated

many musicians have been associated with the hotel. from 1930 on jazz performances were held there. 1931, the Memphis Stompers played there. from 1932 onwards  Charlie Barnet and his band played there regularly.
