Grand Hotel Europa

The Grand Hotel Europa is regularly in the social limelight of the Tyrolean provincial capital in the heart of Innsbruck. Its Baroque Hall from 1883 is the chosen venue for functions of all kind.

Connecting worlds - at Grand Hotel Europa in Innsbruck, modern Italian design and pleasant Tyrolean cosiness meet at the interface of cultures between Munich, Milan, Zurich and Vienna. Innsbruck's only 5-star hotel unites history and future as the first address during the Olympic Winter Games in 1964 and 1976, numerous events and conventions, and in the recent past also as official "headquarters" hotel of the UEFA EURO 2008.
The central city location makes it an ideal starting point for discovering the unique Tyrolean mountain world and culture.

Thanks to the new "Hungerburg & Nordkettenbahn" (cable railway) starting directly from the Innsbruck city centre, mountain peaks of over 2,000 metres above sea level and impressive scenic panoramas can be individually experienced after a 20-minute cable car trip. The surrounding hiking and ski areas as well as the nearby Stubai Glacier offer the fascinating contrast to the urban flair of the Inn River Valley. Several golf courses with easy accessibility - such as Igls, Rinn, Mieming or Seefeld - invite guests to tee-off in splendid alpine nature.

Combine internationally renowned events such as the "Innsbruck Dance Summer" or the "Old Music Festival" with a visit to the attractive sights in the immediate vicinity or region. World-famous Neuschwanstein Castle, the Mediterranean Lake Garda or an excursion to St. Moritz in Switzerland - Grand Hotel Europa looks forward to being your start and finish address on your journey through the Alps!

Bavaria's King Ludwig II described the 5-star hotel as "the most beautiful place in Innsbruck to celebrate festive events". King Karl Gustav of Sweden found in the suites of the Grand Hotel the necessary rest and relaxation between the competition of the two Olympic Winter Games from 1964 and 1976. In 2007, the Italian "Palenca Luxury Hotels" acquired Innsbruck's most important hotel. Extensive renovation and expansion works - which have already been completed in the lobby, bar and reception area - will follow in 2008/09.
